The Board of Directors of The Vladimir Nielsen Foundation cordially invites you to The 2010 Summer Concert Season of The Vladimir Nielsen Piano Festival under the Artistic Direction of Ms. Victoria Mushkatkol. The concert series opens with a recital by the Artistic Director, Ms. Victoria Mushkatkol of The Juilliard School Pre-College Division's piano faculty in NYC. The six following concerts will be performed by extraordinary young virtuosos, ages 10-21 from leading international and national conservatories including The Juilliard School and The Juilliard Pre-College Division, NYC, with classical solo and four hand piano works by Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Bach and others.
These children and young adults promise to delight, inspire and thrill their audiences with varied programs each evening. Wednesday, August 19th at 6 PM is a tradition of ours, The Night of the Great Piano Concerti, followed later in the series by the Season Finale on Saturday, August 21 at 5 PM. Founded in 2006 by Dr. Robert Maimone and his wife, Alexandra Winslow, and Ms. Victoria Mushkatkol, The Vladimir Nielsen Piano Festival, a highly selective program for pre-college aged pianists was created to provide a place of excellence and nurture for serious piano study while providing performance opportunities in the festival's home and newly built facility in Sag Harbor as well as in venues throughout the Hamptons and NYC including The National Arts Club.
The Vladimir Nielsen Piano Festival is one of the programs of The Vladimir Nielsen Foundation, Inc. which seeks to provide living stipends and grants to low-income and financially challenged young pianists and their families, many of whom are moving from abroad to NYC to study music. Steinway and Sons is the official piano of The Vladimir Nielsen Foundation and Festival and will be delivering 11 grand pianos to the home in July for a total of twelve Steinway grand pianos on the property for the duration of the festival.
